What to use when...
Counseling
Counseling is a short-term, goal-focused form of support designed to help you navigate specific life challenges—such as stress, relationship issues, grief, anxiety, and more.
You’ll work with a licensed counselor or therapist who holds a master’s degree in counseling or a related mental health field. Through talk-based sessions, they provide guidance, emotional support, and practical tools to help you move forward.
Counselors use evidence-based techniques tailored to your unique situation. It’s important to note that counselors do not prescribe medication.
Psychology Therapy
Psychological therapy is designed to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns—including anxiety, depression, trauma, and psychological disorders.
Sessions are led by licensed psychologists who hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) and are trained to provide in-depth therapy using research-based methods and clinically proven techniques. They may also conduct psychological testing to help assess and guide treatment.
While psychologists do not prescribe medication, they can collaborate with psychiatrists or medical providers when medication support is needed.
Psychiatry Therapy
Psychiatric therapy focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions—particularly those with biological or chemical components, such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and severe depression.
Therapy is provided by psychiatrists, who are medical doctors (M.D. or D.O.) specializing in mental health. Treatment often combines psychotherapy with medical evaluation and is typically centered on medication management.
Psychiatrists can prescribe medications and monitor their effects, making adjustments as needed to support your overall mental health and well-being.
